The strategic agenda that frames Maarif Institute’s programmes are: 1. Strengthening the role of NGOs concerned with socio-religious issues, especially those that have cultural relationship with Muhammadiyah. Building partnerships with Muhammadiyah-based organizations and networks to pursue long term progress. The very existence of these organizations influences the perspectives and policies of Muslim-based organizations in their respective levels. 2. Expanding the outreach of interfaith dialogue and cooperation through the involvement of religious groups on social issues and public policies. The active role of “Gerakan Moral Bangsa” facilitated by MAARIF institute and Bishops’ Conference of Indonesia (KWI), Communion of Churches in Indonesia (PGI), and other religious institutions in responding to national issues is a foundation for disseminating the spirit of interfaith cooperation in a broader and deeper scale. |
